Weather in Madeira

The Madeira Climate is known as Sub Tropical. Madeira weather is very mild and the island is known as the Island of eternal spring. It's never too hot and winters are mild and it rarely gets cold however, January to March are known as the colder months of the year. Due to the Island's location and an abundance of hills and mountains it can be windy but Funchal is usually more sheltered due to its southern slope location. Due to the Island being on the Atlantic, skies are usually cloudy even on a summer's day. August and September are the hottest months on average at 74 °F. For those that crave warmer weather, July, August and September are the best months. Although it rarely rains in the summer it can be cloudy and a little windy at times.
