Agios Georgios Beach on the southeast coast of Rhodes is a much loved beach that most people wouldn’t want us to tell you about so they can keep it a secret. Stretching over a few kms with golden sand it's ideal for swimming and sunbathing and not crowded even in the height of summer. To get to the beach you will need to travel down a dirt track so hiring a Jeep or taking a taxi is the only way to get there which is why even in the summer months you will find the beach quiet. The sea is a beautiful green and blue in colour with warm waters and a stunning coastal view. Please note as the beach is so secluded there are no food and beverage facilities available so taking a picnic is a must.

Deemed as one of the most beautiful beaches in Rhodes, Anthony Quinn Bay is on the east coast of the island 4km outside of Faliraki. The stunning green vegetation around the beach means the sea is an amazing Emerald Green and a stunning sight. The beach is a mix of sand and beautiful rocks that you can sit on. The beach was the site of the movie Guns of Navarone and is owned by the Actor Anthony Quinn which makes it a popular beach to visit and can be overcrowded in peak season.

Located at the border of Lindos with two pristine sandy beaches surrounded by rocks with only a small opening to allow boats to come in and out. The bay is also known for its charming chapel and the ancient Acropolis that gives epic views of the bay.

Ancient Ilalyssos, one of the earliest cities of Rhodes, is perched at the top of a hill designed as a protection for the city in 480BC. In the 20th century the Italians rebuilt the monastery into a church with four chapels, one for Catholics, Christians, the Knights and one for relics which is what you will see today. Historically important and worth a visit during your stay.

The Acropolis of Lindos is one of the most important archaeological sites in Greece. Standing tall overlooking Lindos, it was built as a defence for the island by the Knights of St John and the views out to sea are breath-taking. As you climb up to the Acropolis you will come across a ship carved into the rock dating back to the 2nd century BC. Standing proudly at the top is the Temple of Athena Lindia, a sight not to be missed.

The oldest monastery on the island is Panagia Tsambika, known as the protector of the island situated between Kolymbi and Archangelos. The old monastery is Located on the top of a hill and the panoramic view of the surrounding area to the sea can only be described as magnificent. The reconstruction of the monastery took place in 1770 but no one knows how old the original monastery was. The local legend states that an icon of virgin Mary was found at the top of the cliff after a candlelight vigil. The icon of Panagia Tsambika is said to have miracle powers especially for those women who want to have children. An offering of a doll is made to the icon so the woman can be blessed.

Butterfly Valley can only be described as a natural beauty. The valley is surrounded by hills, trees and streams. Its namesake comes from the array of different species of butterfly that immerse the valley in a colourful display where they reproduce and leave their eggs between June and September. Airport and Transportation

Rhodes Airport is the fourth largest airport in Greece, its official name is Diagoras airport. The airport is fairly small with only 1 terminal for the large number of passengers that travel through it each summer season so it is always recommended to arrive at least 2.5hrs before your scheduled time of departure. The airport is a military airport so taking pictures within the airport complex is frowned upon.

Rhodes City Centre is only 14km away from the airport. Local buses arrive and depart from the airport to the major resorts on the island. Taxis are available outside the arrivals terminal and are an easy way to reach anywhere on the island in a more quick and convenient way. Car rental can give you the independence to explore the island at your own leisure and various companies have offices at the airport however, in peak seasons we recommend booking in advance or you may find they are fully booked.

The weather in Rhodes has a Mediterranean climate with dry summers and mild winters. The hottest time of the year is July and August with on average 300 days of sunshine a year.
